Job Summary

The Receptionist role is at the heart of Titter Totter, ensuring that every client and visitor experiences a welcoming, engaging, and professional atmosphere. The Receptionist actively interacts with guests and team members, manages incoming communications, and helps coordinate activities that contribute to a seamless front desk operation. Additionally, this position involves handling workshop bookings, managing entrance procedures, operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, and facilitating the sale of merchandise.

This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy creating positive first impressions, possess excellent organizational skills, and are dedicated to providing a supportive experience for all who enter our space. With a friendly demeanor and a focus on service, the Receptionist plays a key role in reflecting our company’s values and fostering a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities
A. Administrative Support and Operations
  • Proficiently handle point of sale (POS) transactions within the store, ensuring an accurate and efficient checkout experience.
  • Manage ticketing for events, workshops, and activities, including coordinating attendance and signing waivers as needed.
  • Assist in the organization and execution of workshops, ensuring all necessary materials and resources are prepared.
B. Safety and supervision
  • Maintain a safe and secure play environment at all times.
  • Monitor the reception area and store to ensure a safe environment for all clients and visitors.
  • Enforce company safety protocols and procedures, reporting any concerns to management immediately.
  • Assist in maintaining a secure entry and exit process for guests and staff.
C. Customer engagement and service
  • Greet clients and visitors warmly, providing them with information and assistance as needed.
  • Actively listen to client inquiries and concerns, offering effective solutions and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Lead orientation sessions and provide resources to enhance the experience of new visitors.
D. Reception area maintenance
  • Keep the reception area, store, and buggy area clean, organized, and inviting to create a positive first impression.
  • Ensure that all materials and resources in the reception area are stocked and easily accessible.
  • Regularly assess the upkeep of all shared spaces, addressing any maintenance needs promptly.
E. Team collaboration and support
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless operations and support for ongoing activities.
  • Assist colleagues with various tasks as needed, fostering a cooperative and collaborative work environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving office procedures and enhancing client experiences.

Required qualifications and Experience

Education High school diploma or equivalent. Additional coursework or certification in office administration, customer service, or a related field is preferred.
Experience Prior experience working in a play area or educational setting, and customer service or reception role preferred. Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer skills.
Communication skills Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children and families.
